OMG A FELLOW GT610 USER! I'm NOT ALOOOONE!!!

Seriously, go for Afterburner by MSI. That's how I got my 947Mhz

Other than that, get a better card. It's a POS

I don't see how the fire hazard is worth the increase in performance.

1. Open MSI Afterburner

2. Put core clock slider all the way to the right

3. Click "Apply"

4. You're done.

Those cards overclock like champs, I have a GT 630 that does 990MHz Core. Bluejay0 does 947MHz core.

No but seriously, crank the slider to the right and start saving up for a better card :P

Why is this under new builds and planning?

MattLCPDFR,

Hello Members of the linus tech tips forums. I need help overclocking a NVidia GeForce GT 610. Please try explaining in the most simplest way. Thanks

BEWARE I AM  NOOB.

I'm not sure if a GT 610 can overclock but if you want to know anyway here is what you need:

An overclocking tool (Any will work I prefer MSI Afterburner)

Something to test the overclock (Preferably an intense game or benchmark)

A graphics card that can be overclocked

So overclocking is pushing the card to more than it was designed to do, much like a car would have a engine because the large one didn't pass safety standards, so we are pretty much turning the small engine to a big one.  Which does mean life is going to be sucked from the card.

Overclocking a graphics card is easy, after you've downloaded your overclocking application turn up the nobs every so slightly, because this is like cooking something, it gets to hot it will burn and shribble.  So make sure to be gentle, after doing so apply the configuration and run the benchmark or game.   Which will test the overclocked card to see if it is stable and how the temperatures are.  If everything is good, turn it up a little bit more and once again run the benchmark or game.  Continue doing this until you are happy with what you have done.  If you run into instability simply revert back the overclock by turning the nobs back down.
