So, my cheap low end mouse pad has really degraded and I was just wondering what the best mouse pads are available. Looking for something much more durable than mine. I don't know what kind of material it's made of/uses. It's just some low end product that I got at a store.

Requirements

-size, just needs to fit mouse, not keyboard and mouse

-needs switching on the edges for durability

-difficult to move/non slippery base

-non plastic as well

-no wrist rest

I'd recommend only the finest silk. /s

How big is your desk? Do you want to hold the keyboard and mouse on the pad?

There are hard ones made of plastic or something, and various kinds of cloth on a rubbery base.  Obviously these will have different feels, and different pros & cons.  Have you considered the differences?

Solve your own audio issues  |  First Steps with RPi 3  |  Humidity & Condensation  |  Sleep & Hibernation  |  Overclocking RAM  |  Making Backups  |  Displays  |  4K / 8K / 16K / etc.  |  Do I need 80+ Platinum?

If you can read this you're using the wrong theme.  You can change it at the bottom.

Just the mouse. Good question, I should have added that in the original post.

Oh yeah, another good one. I need a mouse pad that does not want to move/non slippery base. Non plastic as well.

I'm currently using a Logitech G240 mouse pad. good mouse drag coefficient (or whatever you want to call it, mouse slides well without too little or too much resistance). not terribly expensive, and gets the job done well. had it for over a year now and its still in pretty good condition. made out of some kind of cloth with a rubbery bottom (maybe teflon? I don't know the material, but its grippy) so it doesn't slide on your desk. the only thing I think its missing would be some sort of sewn border edges on the pad to prevent any sort of tattering or fraying of the edges, but even after a year its still in pretty good condition, edges included.

not sure if its for everyone, but the G240 has my vote for sure.

Any recommendation that has stitched edges as well?

well it certainly wouldn't be necessary, like I said its still in pretty good condition even after a year, but a Corsair MM300 is pretty good from what I hear and it has sewn edges. You may also opt for hard mouse pads as these will usually be more durable than the simple cloth ones (you can even get a hard mousepad with a cloth-like surface).

But I mean there are hundreds of mousepads out there, certainly a lot more from a ton of good companies that I've not really investigated. in order to find your perfect one you're going to have to do your own research into the matter. I can highly recommend the Logitech G240 because its the best mouse pad I've ever used, but I also know its not the best mouse pad there is, and its certainly not the ideal kind of mousepad for every user. There are even RGB mousepads nowadays if that is more your thing. You just gotta start looking :D
