That combo would run on a decent 450W power supply. But I recommend getting the EVGA SuperNOVA 550 G2/G3 or the Corsair RM550x.

Well he is gonna be overclocking and the EVGA SuperNOVA 650 G2/G3 only cost 5$ more than the EVGA SuperNOVA 550 G2/G3 so its just silly not to get the one that has more available power if he could end up using it

450W is more than enough for an overclocked R5 1600 and GTX 1080.

Even with overclocking, 450W is well above the required wattage needed. And forgive me for not knowing that the 650W variant's price.

No he should because the only PSU worth buying at that wattage cost 5$ less than the one with 650W, so not paying the last 5 bucks is just silly
