Hello everyone,

I am currently a student who is quite interested in VR/AR development and am looking for my first "gaming grade" (not sure what else to call it atm lol) laptop that will allow me to develop virtual simulations. I am currently using an old Dell computer that takes a long time to render. Since I am going off to boarding school, I would very much prefer not to ship a desktop over to the dorms. Also, I would prefer it were designed closer to an ultrabook. Any suggestions and advice would be helpful and welcome. Thanks!

I don't think that's how it works. Laptops capable of VR development so at least a 1060 (at the MINIMUM, 1070 is much better), aren't exactly "thin" machines. The thinnest it gets is an Aorus X5 v7 and that baby is like 2.5 grand properly specced. And its not friendly towards future development cause you can't upgrade it. Thick clevo machines that can be upgraded are massive, like the P750DM2 or the P775DM3. But MXM gpus will run you thousands of dollars to upgrade.
