High GPU and Memory clocks, NO REASON

Redicat

Yo i has a problem with lagg spikes and complete freezes with my rig ingame

I7 3930K

32GB DDR3 RAM

GTX 970 driver version  shown

No known tasks or anything CPU related i know off..

I tried restarting

GPU Core Clock 1113.8

GPU Memory Clock 1752.8

Load 2% ???

TDP 24%

If this is correct and functional. i have no idea why it does that...

I'm afraid i don't understand the issue

GTX 970 Engine Specs:
1664CUDA Cores
1050Base Clock (MHz)
1178Boost Clock (MHz)

I mean try re installing drivers, but those speeds aren't "high"

GPU is committing too high frequency on GPU Core Clock & Memory Clock

You may have some program that's using hardware rendering and poking at the video card enough to prevent it from idling. In NVIDIA Control Panel, you can enable a notification bar thingy from the top menu bar to show which applications are using hardware acceleration.

If you're running with two monitors and one of them is a high refresh rate, that can also spike up idle clocks (though I think recent drivers fix this).

But its not, its boosting the clock speed yes, but its what its meant to do

Your gpu clock speed: 1113.8mhz

Turbo frequency of 970: 1178mhz

Now wtf are you on about?

I'm re-installing this. Iam 100% sure it does not do this it only did 200-400mhz and nothing this high...

A gtx 210 is clocked higher than 400mhz, i think you need to check your numbers...

i agree it boosting on idle is weird, but i doubt that's causing your issues
