hi so i just updated my windows and it's telling me something about checking my windows setting before installing windows creator update but do i have to install the update or check my settings in that matter ?

Well if your going to install the creators update, you should backup your system. This update has been known to have issues. Microsoft even stated that you should not manually install the creators update, due to the issues they have been having. I would try to skip the update for now if you can. If not, backup your important files.

To my understanding only Pro versions of Windows can defer non-security updates for up to two weeks. Eventually, you will have to install it. You need to review your privacy settings because all of the settings get set back to default after the install, because MS is too lazy to keep things the way you had them.

Because Microsoft said. Period. They are force updates on people. Mostly due to the average person being an idiot and forgetting to apply important security updates. But at the end of the day if they force the updates, they insure every one is on the latest build and every one has the same experience.

You can defer the update for a few weeks I think. My friend has Win 10 Pro for this very purpose. He doesnt install anything on time, just to make sure its safe first before he fucks his system up. LOL

after doing research and contacting Microsoft i found that the windows to creator update is an optional update and does not require you to update this part

Your not required now. But eventually yes, you will have to. MS will stop supporting the current version of Windows 10. Think of the Creators update as a Service pack. Eventually MS will only support the Creators update version and above. Hopefully by that time they would have worked the bugs out.

as of right now it's not needed and maybe if people hate it so much they might make it optional technically in all reality it's an update my mostly an app at the same time

the worst part is if they really wanted for the update to go thru they wouldn't have put remind me later on the application they gave me to check my setting's and everything

The reason for the warning is the update changes all the settings for privacy back to default. So they want you to beware of  any changes you made so you can make them again.
