As @Sakkura mentioned, 4 certainly is an unlucky number in China, as unlucky as the number 13 to the rest of the world. 4 is pronounced as "sì", which sounds like "sǐ" which means "die". 74 is even worse, making the number sound like "Go and die". :)

Same with Japan since they share a common language root.  4 and 7. (shi, shichi).  The Japanese are just a bit less obsessed with numerology and the significance thereof.  Then again, most hotels still avoid the 13th floor.

The 3T could be seen as a OnePlus 4 (not quite a leap, but a sucessor is a sucessor nonetheless), lets hope the OnePlus 5 isnt a slight increment in technology like the 3T was over the 3 xD.

It's the 5th phone in the main line. You had the 1, the 2, the 3, the 3T, and now the 5.

Same reason Samsung skipped Galaxy Note 6 and went to 7.

I just want to sit back and watch the world burn.

Korea as well. I was there in 2015 and some of the hotels there didn't have a 4th floor.

I just thought of it, Oneplus 3 can also be considered as a 4 (1 + 3), So is it really because of the unlucky number? Btw, did they (OnePlus company) actually said this or it's just an assumption?

It's just an assumption. And I don't think 1 + 3 sounds as bad as 4, since you're not actually saying the word that sounds like death.

yeah... pretty much, if they sell this 1+ 4 in china very little people will buy it...

Sounds strange. Some of the hotels here don't even have 4 in their room number , for the same reason.

If it is not broken, let's fix till it is.
