I play games at 1080p 60fps with everything maxed out except AA and I'm happy with my GPU. I understand that there might be a bottleneck in a few games but it shouldn't be a significant impact right?

The impact shouldn't be at all significant.  Plus, you'll have the headroom to move up to 1440p when you're ready.

Hi, I was just wondering, would there be a bottleneck if I put an i5 4460 and a gtx 1070 together? And if so, would it be a huge bottleneck?

in more CPU-intensive titles, maybe. also it can bottleneck slightly at higher fps. i know for certain my 4690k 4.5ghz bottlenecks my 1070 in watch dogs 2

If your main goal is ultra settings and 60 fps at, say, 1440p, you'll be fine.  If you're aiming for 1080p 144hz, the 4460 will limit that in certain games like CS:GO and overwatch.

With that said, pairing a 4460 with the GTX 1070 is not a terrible idea, it just may not be in your best interest depending on your needs.  If you look at my sig, I have a 3570k paired with a GTX 1080, and am absolutely happy with the combo, although many folks in the community might grab their bottleneck pitchforks in protest.

CPU -AMD R5 2600X @ 4.15 GHz / RAM - 2x8Gb GSkill Ripjaws 3000 MHz/ MB- Asus Crosshair VII Hero X470/  GPU- MSI Gaming X GTX 1080/ CPU Cooler - Be Quiet! 4690k is a better cpu than the 4460 but I haven't encountered a bottleneck in watchdogs, at least I think I haven't... I play at 60fps 1080p with everything maxed out except AA and shadows...

Well, you'll definitely be able to turn on AA and max out shadows with a 1070 ;)

I think Watch Dogs 2 is an extreme case given the fact that its engine, specifically, is quite CPU intensive.  A better control, imo, would be GTA V as its GPU and CPU needs are quite balanced.  For example, I can definitely induce a CPU bottleneck that causes noticeable frame drops if I cause mayhem in DT Los Santos.  However, if I'm playing normally, then I'll be at a locked 60fps in the same area.

Depends on game and resolution.

Make sure to quote me or tag me when responding to me, or I might not know you replied! Examples:

Interested in computer architecture? Still in middle or high school? P.M. me!

I love computer hardware and feel free to ask me anything about that (or phones). I especially like SSDs. But please do not ask me anything about Networking, programming, command line stuff, or any relatively hard software stuff. I know next to nothing about that.

Thank you for your reply, I've been looking at benchmarks and I've noticed that my games only fall behind 10-15 frame with the i5 4460 at 1080p and am good with the performance I'm getting

Thank you for your reply, I've been looking at benchmarks and have noticed a 10-15 fps difference with most games so I think the i5 4460 still handles pretty well even with the bottleneck, for now at least
