vga monitor with gtx 1060

budgetguy

i have a monitor with vga(yes vga i know old) but my 1060 doesn't have a vga port on it so i need a converter.

what should i use vga kable and a vga to hdmi/dvi-d/dp or an kable that does fit my gpu and a converter to vga to put in my monitor?

You want a active display port to vta or just use the igpu for your vga display.

what is the igpu? do you mean integrated graphics?

i don't think they are good for gaming

Is this your main monitor or a second one? System specs?

Get that display port to vga active adapter. And you might just want to get a new display too.

Yes, iGPU is the integrated graphics, using the ports built into the motherboard.

A while ago, I was wanting to go the other way, for an experiment.

My bro had his old PC still at our house, with a MSI K7T266 Pro2 board (idk what CPU), FX 5200 GPU (VGA out only), and I only have a Dell U2414H monitor (HDMI/DisplayPort in only.)

I was wanting to benchmark it vs my i7-4790K & GTX 1060 3GB, to see just how much faster my newer setup is. :)

Don't bother with a 1060 then. A slower gpu will work just fine

I think you should learn how to spell cable. But i think that the DVI-D can be DVI and VGA with an adapter so find a DVI to VGA adapter. THIS IS HOW YOU SPELL CABLE. C-A-B-A-L-E
