PSU now working correctly alone but not in PC!

Suttonspencer

I just tested my PSU and it ran on its own, I just installed all of my parts into a new case and now it won't start while connected to the mobo, what should I do?

I would double check your power switch connection leads. It wouldn't be the first time I put it on the wrong pins on the mobo...

Did you check to see if the system would start outside of the PC case (On top of the motherboard box)?

It was just inside of another case working perfectly fine, now I'm not getting any power to the board

Is there a specific way to get that all the way in? I've tried and it won't go any further

Yeah, the 4 pin on the 20+4 pin has pins sticking out that need to line up on the 20 pin.  basically, when all else fails, that 4 pin needs to go in first, then the 20 pin.  if you can't get it to go further right now, the plastic pins are probably caught on the 20 pin.  Also, the picture is too blurry to tell, so double check your power button and power led connectors, or retake that pic so we can see the print on the mobo.

Besides that +4pin slightly sticking out it may sound silly but did you check if the front panel (the power button mainly) is propely connected? Those connectors are kind of a pain in the rear to get right on certain Motherboards (check manual). Try removing such cables and jump the two pins with a screw driver (But FIRST CHECK THE MANUAL to see where are they).

Good luck!
