I just came across pictures of my first pc build and I was wondering if anyone else ever felt genuinely sad about not having their old pc anymore for whatever reason? 

 

My build had a gtx 960 and i5 4670k.

what i do care about however, is my first iphone..

I am about to retire my old pc and I don't really feel bad. We have been through a lot together but at least the (non original) hard drive will live on into the new computer.

 

It is hard to feel too bad when it is running a 1.6 Mhz dual core with integrated graphics

I was 17 when I built it, took 2 years to get the money for it..

My parents aren't big tech people we never had computers in the house until I built the one at the top of the thread

It's old in the sense that I don't have it anymore, I had to sell it for various things.  I'm currently planning a new build with a 7700k and gtx 1080

I mean, how old? I don't have any digital pics of the P2 machine we had prior 2002. But I do from Athlon custom prebuild after that (which is since upgrade to Athlon 64). Plus ofc current builds all previous iterations starting from initial build in 2008 to case change in 2011 and major inner rework in 2013. Not to forget another case change last fall.

First build had a strike x one case and I felt really bad and couldn't sell it. My mom had very little money and helped me build when she really couldnt/shouldn't have. Couldn't sell the pc so it's retired and my little brother uses it

This was my first computer or one very similar. It's a Compaq Desktop from sometime just before 2000. It ran windows 98. I actually think its older than me cause I didn't get it till I was 3 in 2003 after my gran got a Dell Dimension 3000. Not a gaming rig tbh but it played the basic games a 3-8-year-old wanted to play. From what I know about computers now - it was pretty bad but I liked it. I actually ended up with the Dell next since I was gaming on the PS2.

I also remember the separated 5.25 floppies, they had their own box that sit beside the computer.

I wonder how much that held, 25MB.
