Hello guys,

My name is Apostolis and I am from Greece.I decided to sell my old desktop and make a desk pc.Here in Greece parts are way too expensive and I have a thought of buying all parts from Amazon since prices are lower. Will this be a good idea due to the fact that I haven't buy anything from Amazom?Warranty?

Don't buy from US Amazon. You can check if German Amazon ships to Greece. But I would recommend looking German stores like Mindfactory.de instead. You don't need to pay import duties when buying from another EU country. So you only pay added VAT (Amazon.de and Mindfactory.de list prices with VAT included).

If you buy from US, you are going to pay US VAT, EU VAT and import duties. I've calculated prices few times and its about as expensive as buying from EU markets. US store's don't include VAT in prices since it varies between states. Only time when buying from US is valid option, is when you need to get something you can't get from EU. I've bought wrist rest for tenkeyless Ducky and paid €7 import duties for €30 package.

You don't pay US sale taxes when you buy stuff from there.

Well, lets leave one payment off. Its still shipping (around €70 for CPU, mobo and RAM), import fee and VAT when it arrives.

Yeah shipping is extremely expensive. It's 14.99 USD for a music CD from Amazon.com, as if I lived in Biafra.

Recently wanted to get a 1080Ti and it was 80-90$. Better to wait for local retailers to stock up.
