I need help with this Program that pops up for a sec then closes, periodically

kevincatssing

So there is this console like program that keeps popping up from time to time and its getting quite annoying and thanks to the people in the previous thread I made, I was able to narrow it down to these possible processes.

conhost.exe

officebackgroundtaskhandler.exe

They all seem to be running around XX:48:03 in time. The first pic shows when it ran on 12:48:03, and the second pic shows when it ran on 01:48:03, and the third pic is my cats.

What are they? Are they safe? Why do they keep popping up? How do I make them stop doing that?

I hope you guys can help me with this. Thank you for reading.

(To be frank 'conhost' doesn't seem like a very safe name, I don't wanna get con'ned.)

check with SysInternals processexplorer.exe to see if it runs under csrss.exe process

if it does, it's legitimate

if it doesn't .... well .. AV check the entire PC

How do I check if it runs under csrss.exe? I'm sorry I am not much of a computer expert.

Ah you again! I don't trust those files, I'd get as much info on those as possible, see if anyone else has the same problem.

Maybe the cats are hacking into your computer.

Hi again :D!

And I'm trying to get the info I need here and there, and so far I haven't found someone with the same problem as mine, yet.

I don't know man I don't think my cats are doing these.

How do I do that? And I would like to mention that this all happened right after the Windows 10 New Creators update, before hand it was normal.

you back-up the important data to an external drive, preferably

you create a USB install drive with W10, with MS' Media Creation Tool: https://www.microsoft.com/en-us/software-download/windows10 - preferably do this from another PC

you boot from the install drive and you format the C drive, then install Windows

That all sounds intimidating to do..

The reason that I need to backup the important data to an external drive is because all data will be wiped?

Is there really no other way?

I solved the problem of black page officebackgroundtaskhandler by doing this steps:

1- in windows search type this word: task scheduler

2- then go to the " active task: bottom of this page as shown

Image

3- choose the task " officebackgroundtaskhandler.exe" in active task windows.

4- double click this task.

5- in the right windows choose " disable"

Image

that was what I did and the problem was solved. you can also disable other task that you think bother you.
