Is adaptive sync worth it

Go to solution Solved by i_build_nanosuits,

YES adaptative refresh is AMAZING, it's worth every penny...make sure you get something where you can take advantage of it if you're buying a new monitor i think it's stupid not to...honestly.

So I'm getting a gtx 1070 so I'm wondering if g sync is a good option I was looking at 2 monitors both are 16:9 monitor no. 1 had

freesync a quantum dot a VA panel a 1ms response time and is 24 inches $300

The other is a 27 inch VA 4ms response time with g-sync (it's not the best VA panel)

$480

PS: I know response time isn't a big deal and can be faked just put it in for comparison

There's a deal on newegg for a refurbished pg248q, it's got a decent TN panel and gsync 180hz $279

I'd go for that.

If not then if gsync is worth the extra price tag for you then go ahead and go for it. The certain models for the monitors you listed would help

Free sync is for to be used by AMD gpus only

If you cannot guarantee frame rates at or above the refresh rate, then it could be. If you don't care about tearing or you can guarantee a sufficiently fast frame rate, then I don't think it's worth going out of your way to get a variable refresh rate monitor.
