Thermal paste going bad??

Okay, so as of recently I've been seeing abnormal temperatures in my gaming rig. I have an AMD FX-8350 Vishera CPU and a corsair H55 AIO. I know it's not the best mix but it works; recently I've been getting upwards of 70C on my CPU when maybe about a month ago I'd just get around 60-65C max playing something like CS:GO.

 

Cpu usage when playing CS:GO for example has always been around 40-50% for me, and it still is though the temperatures are much higher so it can't be that. I know it's not the fans since those are always at 100% no matter what, and I can feel it pumping air out. I see nothing wrong with the cooler itself, no weird sounds or leakages.

 

Could it be the thermal compound? it's a generic brand which is one suspicion of mine as to why it could be.

Yeah sometimes thermal compound will dry up and you'll have to replace it. I replace mine about once every year on each major component.

It could be, but thermal paste shouldn't go that bad practically overnight.

Thermal paste going bad happens over time not instantly it is most likely the pump on the aio is going bad because that can happen quickly like that.

I often dust my computer so I know that it's not dust for a fact.
