Which actuates faster- MX Browns, Reds, Gateron Clears or Romer Gs?

FYI its RED cause it has 45G of force and 2mm to actuate and 4mm to bottom.

Brown has the similar the same travel distance but a has  55mg peak force.

Gatheron have a lot of variation as well just like Cherry i am not to familiar with it.

If u want a fast switch buy the MX SPEED from corsair it require only 1.2mm to actuate.

I would like to get the speeds but I want to keep my budget under 100 pounds. Also forgot to put it in the title, how would the Reds stack up against the Romer Gs?

Fastest @1.2ms-1.5ms

Speed (45g)

Logitech Romer G (45g)

????

Clears (35g)

Everything else @2ms

Reds

Browns

Gateron equivalents

The clear switch is interesting because of how light it is.  It may be faster than a speed on the virtue of taking practically no force to actuate.  Clear is probable faster than browns/reds but may lag behind speed and equivalent switches

No.. clear is similar to brown but require 55G and 65G peak of force to actuate.. so its just heavier version of brown.

Gateron clear is a linear key with 35g of actuation.  Its a light red.

Also, romer g are faster at this price point, some people just don't like how soft they are

It is but they use the terms omron for the mouse switches.

So if u said logitech keyboard using omron switches u are not wrong but inaccurate its like u are saying they use cherry switches but which switch?
I dont know if Omron made a lot of switch types but its best to stick with Romer G to be more specific. ;)

I thought it was MX CLEAR switches my bad

I never even knew that they existed xD

  • 2 years later...

Would be great to get some real benchmarks of switch latencies. Is it really all about actuation distance?
