Asus ROG STRIX-GTX1080-A8G-GAMING Aura Question

Hi guys,

 

I have just a quick question. I heard on mulitple reviews of the Asus ROG STRIX-GTX1080-A8G-GAMING that the RGB Lights on the card can be controlled with the ASUS aura software. My motherboard will not have that feature. Does that mean I will not be able to controll the lights on the card or is the Aura software just so you can sync the entire system.

From what I understand, software like this detects all the components it supports. If you have a compatible motherboard and GPU, it'll detect both. If you only have a compatible GPU, it'll detect only the GPU.

It's all good. I haven't actually tried using the software, but if the software only worked if you had a compatible motherboard, it would be pretty B.S. to buy an RGB GPU.
