R9 270 Bottleneck?

I was wondering if an fx-4350 bottlenecks an r9 270? I was running Grand Theft Auto 5 at medium settings and was only getting around 40 frames. I thought this was weird so I lowered the settings to low and still only about 40-50 frames. I then proceded to up the graphics to ultra and still 40-50 frames. If it does bottleneck the Gpu would something like an fx-8300 series cpu do the trick? Thank you

You don't know what the word bottleneck means until you run a 4k monitor with a 280x and a FX-8320 @4.0Ghz... Lol.

 

No but on a serious note, don't bother with the FX lineup. Save up and invest in the AM4 platform. FX is dead and has been.

Planning on saving up for a skylake system. Even something basic like a dual core with 4gb of ram and then i can just upgrade from there

I just pc part picked it out and it would be about $300 for a skylake system. Would an i3-6100 be good enough for an R9 270?

I wouldn't go below the i5. Can you afford the 7600k?

Can you afford a Ryzen 5 based 1400 or 1500X setup?

 

If so then i'd recommend that over skylake.
