At the moment I am using a 500gb western digital black with no SSD and I kinda feel the lack of storage. In a few weeks I will solve this issue by buying a SSD and another HDD.

My question is:

Is worth a 120gb SSD from hyperX that has both write and read speeds over 450?

Also which one is better a 2tb 5600rpm WD blue or a 1tb 7200rpm (still blue)?

Well on that 2tb I'll only store images, music, videos and all of my games installers whilst on the 500 i'll install the games and in the SSD will be only the windows and maybe some apps like chrome etc. That's why I am confused by these two wd blues

is this going to be a NAS or inside your main PC???

cause if it's a NAS then get 2 x 2TB HDD and put then in RAID 1 or another option is 5 more 500GB HDDs and put them in RAID 6 with the old 500GB. Or 3 1TB HDDs and use RAID 5, but as for the SSD, if it's a NAS it anit necessary, but that being said a SSD could be used as a SSD cache for the NAS, it won't hurt, I would suggest maybe 60-120GB SSD, you will only need 1 to do that probably

The 2tb will have slower read and write speeds but have more capacity. It's a trade off that you have to choose for yourself. Personally I would rather have the speed and just try not to use too much space. For the ssd basically all of them will be a massive upgrade from a hard drive but some are faster than others. Personally I just get the middle of the way ssd that is both pretty fast but not too expensive like a Samsung 850 evo.

You are right. Also this update will have a limited budget of let's say 150 or 200€.

That's why I've picked the hyperx and the wd blue. Black would also be available but it depends on budget and maybe if I get it on sale.

I think blacks are overrated. You are better off getting a faster ssd than getting a nicer hard drive
