low fps on bf1 with gtx 1080

MrJarhead

i usually play on low settings on battlefield and today i noticed the fps was falling short even at those settings, so i tried 1080p ultra and wtf, i couldnt get anymore than 60-80fps... on conquest bearing in mind but still, is anyone else having issues with this game?

Check CPU usage. Battlefield 1 is really hard on CPU usage in general.

it only hits about 75% on the first core and the rest hover around 40-60%.

Hmm. Might be drivers as @Zic05 said.

there is no way a 980 can get 130fps is there, unless its on low settings.

A 980 can easily get 130fps at 1080p high settings.

Average fps for a 980 is about 85ish fps maxxed out 1080p...

switch to dx12,pascal gpu's run better on dx12 in bf1 also helps with multithreading.

Why not?

SSDs and graphical tuning make alllll the difference for FPS. :P The preset Ultra setting is kinda garbage. Anti-Aliasing is kinda overrated. Always has been.

there is something wrong on your system m8,i've got a somewhat similar system and have no problems at all with bf1(system in signature)

remove the drivers with ddu and reinstall

It absolutely can. I have mine running 1080p ultra, 130% resolution and get 80fps. At 100% resolution, ultra settings I get 110-120fps. That's at factory OC too.

Having issues with a Corsair AIO? Possible fix here:

Spoiler

Are you getting weird fan behavior, speed fluctuations, and/or other issues with Link?

Are you running AIDA64, HWinfo, CAM, or HWmonitor? (ASUS suite & other monitoring software often have the same issue.)

Corsair Link has problems with some monitoring software so you may have to change some settings to get them to work smoothly.

-For AIDA64: First make sure you have the newest update installed, then, go to Preferences>Stability and make sure the "Corsair Link sensor support" box is checked and make sure the "Asetek LC sensor support" box is UNchecked.

-For HWinfo: manually disable all monitoring of the AIO sensors/components.

-For others: Disable any monitoring of Corsair AIO sensors.

That should fix the fan issue for some Corsair AIOs (H80i GT/v2, H110i GTX/H115i, H100i GTX and others made by Asetek). The problem is bad coding in Link that fights for AIO control with other programs. You can test if this worked by setting the fan speed in Link to 100%, if it doesn't fluctuate you are set and can change the curve to whatever. If that doesn't work or you're still having other issues then you probably still have a monitoring software interfering with the AIO/Link communications, find what it is and disable it.

I've just realised what it is... it will be the max frames ahead... it always resets itself to the one that gives you bad fps...
