PS-

difference between D and E is the length of the small ventilation slot

difference between E and F is alignment of the power button, either centered (E) or aligned to top (F)

It is a tad strange to me to have the power button on the back but if it is then A or C would likely be the most convenient but I chose D because it looks cleaner and the spacing feels nicer which is enough to out weigh the convenience of A or C

What's the difference between A&C?

Overall I like those because the power button is on the outer side for easier access.  It's be nicer if the clip for the ethernet jack faced away from the power button, so you don't accidentally bump it, but depending on what you're doing, you might not have a say in how that is oriented.

I'd say A or C, primarily A because it gives more room above the power plug.  More context as far as case construction/orientation MIGHT change my answer though

The spacing, A doesn't cut into a vent slot

C actually gives you an extra half slot

The power button is there so that all 5 sides of the PC are blank, and it will only need to be pressed like once or twice a year ;)

Thanks for the input.

In C the power plug is shifted left and an extra short slot is added.

You're right about the clip, I will do that :)

The back is the only interesting side of the case. All other 5 sides are blank ;)

I chose D, but my only nitpick would be the Ethernet jack being turned around in case the power button is hit.

I deal a lot with case engineering, myself.  Even if it's an infrequent use, when I build it I still want it to be convenient and comfortable in use.  Sad thing is, when I'm done...........I'm not done.  I tend to be a perfectionist on some of the menial details.

I'm actually considering moving the power button inside the case now, it will be used extremely rarely since the PC will be up 24/7.

Pretty much the only time I would need to use it is when installing windows or after a power outage.

Wake on lan is also an option, but a physical button inside is always good.

Unfortunately no MITX motherboards have an onboard power button :C correct me if I'm wrong...

That should allow that half-slot to become a full slot and make the back even cleaner.

Circles don't really fit in with rectangles very well anyway :P

Ideally, for the most minimalism, there would be no ethernet port, only power (and it would use wifi).

But since this computer will be running servers I need it to have the reliability of a wired connection.

Thanks for voting everyone :) Will probably go with D but without the power button.
