What Graphics Card Should I Go With?

Alright I think its time to upgrade but Ill leave that up for discussion these are my specs now

CPU: AMD 6300

GPU: MSI Gaming 270x twin Froz

Motherboard: gigabyte ga-78lmt-usb3

Ram: 8gb (not sure if its DDR3)

1tb hard drive

It plays games pretty well, I usually play over-watch, fallout 4, Planet-side 2 and Space engineers when it comes to future titles Im looking to play battlefront 2 and if Star citizen or Destiny if those come out

The main issue that I want to address is what GPU i should get if I build a new ryzen system (either 1600,1700)

I have considered the radeon 580 8gb, Gtx 1060 6gb or 1070

I would not like to spend 400 dollars on a new gpu and am not trying to go over 1200

I have the build this far https://pcpartpicker.com/list/MmYwXH

Among the 3 GPUs you listed above, 1070 is the best. You can get a 1070 under 400 dollars.

However, you should upgrade your CPU first (or change the entire platform) since it will bottleneck powerful GPUs.

Overall, the part list seems nice. Though the SSD is not that good.

If you're not trying to go over 1200 dollars, get a 1080. however, if you really want to have better performance than that for about 100 less bucks, get 2 rx580's, but make sure to get a good looking SLI bridge for it.

I'd save the $200 buying a 580 under a 1070 which will keep you under budget.
Remember, that's $888 + 379 for a 1070 = 1267 + tax = 1400.

I recently purchased a 144hz 1080p monitor that has freesync so I am considering if I should wait for Vega or just get a 580. SLI just seams like games don't support them as much.

And I understand that my CPU-motherboard combination is pretty crappy but I can still get 60-70 frames on the games I play on today as long as if I am playing at medium settings

AMD Radeon Graphics Card doesn't require a Crossfire Bridge to enable Crossfire.

It's been this way since the launch of the R9 290/x back in 2013.

Everything is now done through the PCI-e interface.

I'd invest some of that price savings into a larger SSD. I have a 128GB SSD and after everything I use was installed, I had room for about 1 game on the SSD.

That's all I thought I'd need to.
Then came TeamSpeak, Curse, Twitch, Blizzard, League, Steam, Office, Origin, Skype, Xbox, etc.

I updated the list is this SSD better? I don't know how to rank SSDs but I think M.2 is better than the 2.5

Good SLI bridge for Crossfire? Seriously? Or just high?

850 EVO is great.

M.2 is only better than 2.5 if it is a NVMe SSD. If both are SATA drives, there's not much difference.

Is the 850 evo NVMe? and more importantly how do I tell what type of m.2 the motherboard can take?

850 Evo is a SATA AHCI based drive.

And your motherboard does not remotely support M.2 drive or any NVMe drive, so a 2.5in SATA AHCI based SSD are your only choice.

the newegg specs say it supports 1 m.2?

Because that is am AM4 board. Not an AM3+ board like the one you currently have.

I mention your current board does not support M.2 and NVMe.

ryzen 6cores/12threads is plenty for 99% of the users out there, especially gamers...the microATX board will look stupid in the S340 case so i replaced it with an ATX equivalent, and since you save over 100$ on CPU you get get a GTX 1070:

Almost every new board supports M.2 or NVMe, except for the extreme budget boards.

But for most consumers, there is no benefit for NVMe drives.

AMD's Vega GPUs come out in a month or two, and when they do, prices will drop some, and AMD will likely have a GPU that's faster than a GTX 1070 for cheaper than a GTX 1070 currently costs. Might want to consider waiting until then to buy a new GPU.
