looks good, if you need more storage get a nas for archiving your important files.

Alright, will do that if the time comes.

Anything else noteworthy of mention or change?

To be honest, it doesnt really matter, you could even save money and go on ebay or something and buy one for $80

not really, old xeons will eat lot more power while delivering less performance.

Then get a newer one with a higher clock and more cores, You can find some good servers for like $200 us, it's really not worth to build one unless you are doing multiple file transfers like what Linus (my girl) has.

You could save the $30 by getting a smaller SSD but I still recommend the SL308 because you want as high performance on your SSD as possible.

We have a NEW and GLORIOUSER-ER-ER PSU Tier List Now. (dammit @LukeSavenije stop coming up with new ones)

You can check out the old one that gave joy to so many across the land here

They do cost a bunch less, like it's not uncommon for 2 E5-2670s to go for $100 bundled. Of course it's a lot harder to find 2 x LGA 2011 motherboards.

old servers have lots of problems, OP is going to be using it for work. if OP can afford a new system that is guaranteed to work why risk it with old outdated parts that work most of the time.

Try to upgrade the GPU to a GTX 1060 or an RX 470/480/570/580. They will be better for GPU acceleration

still 2nd hand from ebay, they still have outdated parts with no clear future expansion. getting a 2012 server that competes with OPs build will cost more also no warranty.

For someone who is not going to game at all, the 1050 and the 1050 Ti are the same. CUDA accelerated rendering doesn't scale amazingly for GPU power  (according to Linus' rendering GPU showdown)

It's still not that much more expensive, might consider switching out the case even if it costs a little more.

I plan on shipping this PC to Saudi Arabia, the hardware here is either overpriced or outdated so buying from here is more expensive than shipping the hardware across the globe.

I think Amazon, OutletPC and B&H are the only ones that ship to SA.

Ah yeah I've helped people out from SA in the past and shipping from Amazon was amazingly the best option. If you can afford to do $30 more, get the 250GB SL308, and happy building! :D
