Business Class Internet

I switched to business class internet i was getting with blaster package like 230 down and 12 up and im getting 180 down and 11-12 up but im suppose to be getting 20 up. plugged the modem directly into the computer and i get the 20 up. 

 

My Modem is a ARRIS SB6141

Router ASUS AC1900 Dual Band 201.11ax gigabit.

Well wifi is slower then ethernet.

Is your ARRIS Modem in Router Mode or is it in Bridge/Modem only mode?

 

If your Modem and your Router are both doing NAT, that could affect performance.

it *shouldnt*, at least not at those speeds.

 

that said, are you testing this wireless? and do you have some QoS stuff set in the asus?

The SB6141 is just a cable modem. Has no router built in. 

 

I would say something in the router is limiting it. Also Im surprised the OP got to use a standard Cable Modem on business class. Most of the time they assign a modem/router combo and make it harder to use customer owned modems.

The ARRIS modem is just a modem, So ive been messing around. I updated the firmware on the router. on my main rig (wired, everything has a wire except my laptop) is getting 180 down and 24 up, plex PC (which is the main one i care about) is getting 180 down and 12 up sometimes 17 sometimes 11 its super spotty it seems. ANd usually ends up on the lower end. Wirelessly on my laptop im seeing 133 down and 21 up.
