1080ti Cooler Style?

Hey,

Looking to buy a new 1080ti for around £750 just unsure exactly on what cooler to go for. My case is S340 elite (white) and I've pretty much gone for a white theme, with a z170 deluxe white board, 32gb 3.2mhz white corsair ram etc..

So far I've discovered that;

FE is a no go due to thermal throttle but it's my favourite cooler design,

ROG Strix looks great, has great performance but is £800 here in the UK which is £50 more than I want to spend,

MSI performance and price is also great but WHY THE RED?!?!?

Gigabyte OC white looks good, cooler performance is decent too - but no back plate which is a huge deal breaker for me.

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks.

In what world is it thermal throttling? It is different cooler, so yes, it does run a bit hotter and maybe a bit louder (depending on your fan curve), but even my reference 980 Ti did not thermal throttle and that put out same amount of heat. Plus 1080Ti's cooler is very slightly better.

GPU boost doesn't boost as high due to thermal limits, I think that counts as thermal throttling.

Still... I think people overreact a bit towards it, I mean my Titan X at 1582mhz core clock shows no throttling at all... sure that thing on full load is a jet engine ready to take off but no throttling and stable at a very high overclock for air.

Founders Edition cards are fine, they just target different audiences.... The way I see it.

If it's not as bad as you lot say FE maybe the best choice for me - I mean just going by reviews I've seen e.g. Jays2centz shows throttling, given that it was at max load and its rare i'll ever use it at max load..

It's also louder though, and why get it when you could get a similar priced card with a better cooler (unless you have an itx system).
