Hi Everyone!

I was playing games last Friday when my computer just suddenly turned off, I thought it was an issue with the power supply but when replacing the power supply, I still could not get it to boot. Since then I got a new CPU, ram, and motherboard (I was due for an upgrade anyways) and still can't get a boot. The power switch and everything is plugged in correctly, I have no idea what can be causing the problem.

Specs:

i7- 7700k

Asus prime 270e power supply

650w evga powersupply

970 graphics card

samsung Evo 250gb ssd

some random 2 tb hard drive

How  far dose your system go into boot? do you get anything on screen? Please describe in detail exactly what happens when you hit the power button.

I hit the power button, then my desk light kinda dims but the computer itself does not do anything

If this is not a issue with your power outlet otherwise use a paper clip or piece of wire to jump the start on the mobo if it doesnt boot remove everything!! unnecessary from computer and see if you get a boot also could be a short from your case

You mean a desk light plugged into you room outlet?

if so or if a power brick dont use it otherwise if its not your computer it could be a serious power issue in your home.

realistically you should check every possible solution on your pc try different outlets in different rooms (rooms are all on same circuit)

The problem is they said that their desk light dimmed when they tried to power on aiming towards a large power draw from circuit

I'm worried it's a circuit issue as well. Even high end workstations don't draw the enough power on boot to cause the lights to dim. I only expect things like printers and hairdryers to do that.

Also Use a adapter to test your psu or a paper clip on the two pins on the 24pin which you can look up if everything is ok slowly start adding things in like only have Mobo and CPU then add ram and etc.. your pc Should still start to boot w/o ram it will make a noise or display a error on your screen. that even means removing fans just for a short while until you can confirm it is not them.

YES but the only thing that causes the lights to dimm in my house is the HVAC and furnace systems kicking on and washers/dryers

You didn't mention changing the GPU? Try removing it and try to clear the CMOS by shorting the CMOS clearing pin as mentioned above (fully power off your PC, switch the PSU to "0" and wait a few minutes to be sure). If you want to go the extra step, disconnect all power leading to the motherboard as some PSU's like to carry extra juice for a while. Once done, try booting and have your HDMI connected to your motherboard directly since you have an Intel CPU/chipset and can utilize the integrated graphics. Still no boot? It is likely that your motherboard has failed.

if jet224 is right you might cleaning up your build and making sure there is no metal touching anything

this sounds stupid... but did you use standoffs on your motherboard, one guy on ncix forum didn't and that was his problem.

yes if everything has been replaced then it must be accessories like fans and power adapters etc.. remove those and try for a boot like i said remove everything and if you have to remove you MOBO from the case and try to boot it on a desk or something even USB devices

Still no response :(

Should I just take it into a computer service center cause they would probably be able to fix it.

I did all of that, but it seemes unlikely that my first motherboard would fail then this one would too.
