Hey, I want to know if there are any issues with this build (e.g. bottlenecking) and general thoughts. will i need to upgrade the 430w to a  500b? is the rx570 better value for money than the 580? will it create bottlenecking?

AMD Ryzen R5 1600 - 216

AMD Radeon RX570 - 169

16gb ddr4 ram - 100

amd b350 board - 80

Samsung 850 EVO 250 GB - 90

430w psu evga - 40

NZXT S340 s340 - 60

£700 - 800 pc thoughts?

Just make sure you're getting a quality PSU, check the tier list here or check jonnyguru.com reviews, also make sure you get ram that ryzen likes like g.skill trident z or ryzen optimized ram

Don't need much storage? 1TB of HDD storage has never been cheaper :)

And as the others said, never "cheap-out" on the power supply..... I unfortunately had to learn the hard way (not with EVGA though honestly).

Even if he *thinks* he only needs a 430 watt psu, he may really want to up it at least 500 bronze+ minimum.

You're exactly right; better to play it safe and have better power efficiency than to risk the entire build's integrity. I've seen this PSU work for smaller PCs, but with those specs it kind of makes me nervous if we're being honest here

I always look at my builds, see the estimated power draw, and up it by at least 150, usually 200. Why? 1. Longevity. I have a 700 watt gold that has been running for 8 years almost nonstop. 2. Upgrades. Who knows what I'll have running on a psu in 3 years? Not me. 3. Just like you said, " You're exactly right; better to play it safe and have better power efficiency than to risk the entire build's integrity ". Not only can you ruin your build, but your house/apartment will stink for weeks if it fries. Spending an extra $10-$30 can save so much money in the long run.

efficiency+wattage=/= quality

the W1 uses mediocre capacitators and quality isn't good. it's okay for the price but not meant for anything more than a low-end build.

CPU: AMD Ryzen 5 5600X Heatsink: Gelid Phantom Black GPU: Palit RTX 3060 Ti Dual RAM: Corsair DDR4 2x8GB 3000Mhz mobo: Asus X570-P case: Fractal Design Define C PSU: Superflower Leadex Gold 650W

also. any suggestions on a 1440p monitor with freesync under £200

Here is a pretty good one, with freesync, and of course, it is curved :) .

Oops, not 1440p.

https://smile.amazon.com/Samsung-Curved-24-Inch-Monitor-C24F390/dp/B01CX26WPY?_encoding=UTF8&deviceType=desktop&keywords=curved 24 inch monitor&qid=1492637912&ref_=sr_1_1&sr=8-1

This one is, no freesync though :(

And if you have extra money you can grab a nice 34" 1440p w/freesync for quite a bit more (I cannot wait until freesync is standard on most TV's next year; hopefully standard).
