Gtx 770 random restarts

I upgraded from a hd6850 and a 500w psu

To a gtx 770 and an Evga 600w not bronze just a reg 600w and i am getting random shut downs after minutes of playing games like csgo, and etc. And sometimes it wont let me boot onto the gpu when its a priority display device.

Did you wipe your drivers before installing the new ones?

Install DDU and use it to wipe all graphics drivers, both Nvidia and AMD/ATI. Then clean install the GTX driver.

After that, random shutdowns could come from a couple of factors. It could be a PSU protection circuit such as Over-power or Over-Temperature. These usually make for a sudden shutdown without warning or freezes.

We have a NEW and GLORIOUSER-ER-ER PSU Tier List Now. (dammit @LukeSavenije stop coming up with new ones)

You can check out the old one that gave joy to so many across the land here

I clean installed windows and for the psu its really the top suspect tbh but the fact that it sometimes lets me boot with my gpu is weird and points me nowhere when it comes to finding the faulty part

Try it with your old psu. a 500 watt bronze may be putting out more than a non rated 600. I would check all the connections obviously. reseat the card and ram (though I doubt those are the problems). It's most likely, as you stated, either the psu or the gpu.

We don't know that his older PSU is bronze or any better than the EVGA

Well if I'll be honest, the PSU you have isn't great. And the GTX 770 pulls a lot of power so it might be that. If anything I would replace the PSU with something a bit better, where do you live?
