I require some help right now. I am planning on assembling a PC for Audio production

My current Plan is

- Intel i5-7400 (Kaby Lake)

- MSI H110M Pro-VD

- WD Blue 1TB Hard Drive

- SanDisk SSD Plus G25 (120GB)

- Asus Xonar DGX

- Aerocool VX-500

- Avexir Core White DDR4 8GB

- EVGA Geforce GTX 560 ti

My question is I cant find the specifications of the audio ins and outs of the MSI motherboard and the ASUS sound card. I plan on getting the sound card for additional audio inputs. I am willing to spend a decent amount but not spend a lot of money on this. Can anyone tell me whether the MSI and the ASUS will give me at least 2 Line Ins and a headphone out. Because I know motherboards come usually with some sort of Line in and Headphone out but I am not sure in this case. Can someone tell me whether this is ok for Audio input and Headphone out.

Also it would be cool if some of you experienced with audio engineering or computer assembling in general to tell me whether my other components are fine for audio production.

You should use an audio interface and not any kind of sound card or onboard audio.

So a few things about audio production computers:

1) An i5 isn't going to cut it anymore. You'll want hyperthreading for your DAW engine.

2) 8Gb of RAM isn't going to be enough. I run 32Gb and still have issues from time to time with getting enough resource for plugins and VSTIs.

3) You should look at getting a larger drive, and not use the WD as I find they act a bit funky under heavy loads. Look at STARTING with a Barracuda 3TB. Full 24bit/44.1kHz audio takes up a lot of space. Then each fade you make is a separate audio file. Editing creates more files. It's not uncommon for a 5 minute song to turn into a 30Gb folder on disk. You'll want maybe a second SSD for samples and loops.

4) Onboard audio or a PCI sound card won't cut it. The latency inherent in the designs is far too high, and frankly most computer audio inputs are garbage for anything but playing games or watching youtube videos. Look at getting at minimum 2-in 2-out interface from GC/LM/whatever local music shop you have. Look along the lines of http://www.musiciansfriend.com/pro-audio/presonus-black-audiobox-2x2-usb-recording-system as it also comes with a very good DAW (Studio One). This will get you low latency (down to about 5ms when I tested, which is pretty good for a smaller USB interface) and a very good DAW with some really good plugins.
