Buy whatever product is best for you, not what product is "best" for the market.

Interested in computer architecture? Still in middle or high school? P.M. me!

I love computer hardware and feel free to ask me anything about that (or phones). I especially like SSDs. But please do not ask me anything about Networking, programming, command line stuff, or any relatively hard software stuff. I know next to nothing about that.

He thinks he can get around $750-$800 lol.

Lol... He knows that Polaris/Pascal as well as Ryzen have devalued his 4590 to around $100-$150 ish and his 390 to around $150 right?...

Not to mention the other stuff is devalued probably by at least 20-30% just due to being used.

OUCH nope that ain't happening lol.  Depending on where you live and what the second hand market is like I'll back up @DocSwag on this.

It's still pretty good so like 600-650?

Nobody is going to pay so much for an old i5 when they can get a full R5, old i7 or modern i5 system for the same price, all of which can easily outperform the locked i5 here.

Let him sell it at the prices that he wants. When he figures that no one will buy it then tell him you were right all along

I guess you  could humor them and  try putting up a listing for 750 and see how it sells.  If you want to sell on craigslist/kijiji people may see a later price drop as a willingness to drop  the price even lower and they will be more aggressive on pricing.  Trust me, I'm one of those guys lol.

Let him post it on eBay for $750 and wait 3 months for no one to buy it. Then maybe he'll understand.

Or just price out a NEW pc that's better than his for cheaper. That might work too.
