Freenas error

Ok... so I am building a server out of an old desktop and I want to use freenas. I tried to install but it just spits our the error cddone get error 0x5 back. (Along those lines can't remember exactly phrasing( help plz?

it would help if you gave the exact error. did you do a checksum on the iso you downloaded?

cddone got error 0x5 back, and sometimes it says cddone got error 0x6 back

try a different nas os like openmedia vault. Freebsd (the freenas kernel) can be pickly about hardware.

Could always try Nas4Free. A cellphone picture (or whatever) of what you're seeing would help too.

 

I would try FreeNAS version 9.10, Corral just got rolled back and put on standby.

yep always do a checksum of your downloaded ISO. The freenas instructions have a section on this. verify your download before burning to cd or iso

I installed the ISO to my VM and it worked fine though.

I tried nas4free, it worked... but every time i reboot the server it re-sets my settings

Make sure all your settings are being done at the GUI. Any direct file modifications get over-written.

All my settings were made in the Web GUI
