Hi guys,

a wild error appeared today. When powering on my pc, fans start to rotate lighting turn on but nothing more. No signal for the monitors and keyboard remains dark. When I remove the power cord and plug it back in my system boots like designed.

What I already noticed is that none of the little LEDs on the mainboard blink that should indicate a normal boot process. Also no ports are powered (USB, DisplayPort etc). I already searched the web/ forum for hints but nothing was working. Stuff I already tried/ checked:

- changed every peripheral just to make shure

- energy safing options

- issues with dual monitor set up

And yes, I read the "Read before asking for help" & "How to respond to a no POST or no power up situation".

My system:

Windows 10 64bit

Asus Strix Z270H

i7-7700k (stock speed)

MSI GTX 1080 Aero

GSkill Ripjaws V

Samsung SSD 960 EVO

EVGA SuperNOVA G3 80+ gold 750 watt

BIOS 0906 03/22/2017

Would be great if you have some ideas to try because I am already totally frustrated... In case I forgot something to mention or missed some details

Thanks for your help!

The title should be changed as it sounds like an issue that Windows has nothing to do with.

"It pays to keep an open mind, but not so open your brain falls out." - Carl Sagan.

"I can explain it to you, but I can't understand it for you" - Edward I. Koch

Thank you very much! Clearing CMOS did the trick.

The issue reoccured after setting the XMP profile.

Found this post from the Asus ROG forum that also references to my BIOS version
