What is this card really for?

I have known about the Quardo M6000 for a while, and today I have just come across the Quardo GP100....$8000! WTF is this even for? Ultra high end 3D rendering maybe?

those prices are aimed at professional studios though. think rendering sites where they render out complete technical 3D drawings of multi billion dollar cruise ships, or Pixar. 8K is small change to those people.

I thought it was well known at this point that Quadros are for big companies and professionals, im sure there are people out there who look at the GP100 and still want more. However its too easily forgotten that cards like this literally fund the research into better cards for the consumers. Its kinda like an extreme version of titan tax; the titan cards usually get outperformed for half the price very shortly after release, but the quadros seem more like they are designed to stay on top for at least a few generations of consumer cards, and the way they do that, is make it totally overkill, and charge silly but appropriate money for it
