Peter Moore's Last Day at EA

GeekPower0

Today was Peter Moore's last day at EA.

Quote

Peter Moore established quite a reputation for himself in the videogame industry, as an executive at Sega, Microsoft, and Electronic Arts, where he served most recently as the "Chief Competition Officer" of its esports division. So it came as an honest surprise when, in February, he announced that he'd be leaving it all behind to become CEO of the famed Liverpool FC. Today was his last day in the industry, and he said goodbye in style, in both a written message and in a retrospective video on YouTube.

Well, he's not the CEO.

Yeah. It's a shame. Unfortunately, this is also how fake information becomes a popular myth. Someone skims an article, and relays completely false information.

Yes, otherwise it's plagiarism.

Wait, what? Linking and excerpting an article is considered plagiarism now?

Always was considered plagiarism. You quote the article and give the link to the source. You follow-up with your own take on the matter and, voila, done.

Unless you want us to be Buzzfeed? We could post every news article imaginable.

Plagiarism is claiming the work as your own. Everyone posting an excerpt and a link (which actually attributes it to the rightful article writer) does not fit the plagiarism definition....at all.

Not sure why you're bringing up Buzzfeed. A sub-forum dedicated to people posting tech news, and the forum platform, which allows discussion, is much more efficient than using any type of comment system on a website.

Yes, it helps keep news posts from containing only a single sentence of original thought/content.  This post is a perfect example of why actually

However, this is a discussion forum. If you want full news content, click the link in the news thread, or read news sites. I'm really not understanding the extra complication people are adding to this.

As for the topic of this thread, I think taking over Liverpool is incredibly lofty and demanding, so I'm curious what made him choose such a drastic change. Hopefully a new man at the top of EA will filter down into fixing all the things we gamers have issues with them over.
