There's something seriously wrong with my laptop

So my laptop is behaving extremely abnormally its running an AMD A12-9700P and it's recently decided to just grind to a halt I start it up and it will work for the first 5 or so minutes shortly after that my web browser will stop responding and then the entirety of the interface funnily enough I could still play minecraft just fine on it. And I have no idea what is wrong with it, it's extremely concerning as I spent alot of money on it and I expected it to work 

 

What i've tried so far

Malware bytes scan: Nothing detected

sfc /scannow: system image healthy

safe mode: inconclusive

 

Any help or insights are greatly appreciated

yup everything is stable nothing abnormal, forgot to mention before any of this started it blue screened with something like bad pool caller something or other,

Back up data and then a clean install is my recommendation. But try and run an antivirus scan first. I think Malwarebytes is mostly aimed at malware (thus the name), and is usually used along with an antivirus like Bitdefender, Sophos Home, Avast, etc.

well from what I found out you do your run of the mill /sfc scannow, and that came back as fine so I cant really really put that down as the definitive cause

The thing is if its a heat issue I wouldn't have been able to play minecraft while windows was slowly dying the background

That's strange. Must be their new ones. My family has all HP laptops, as my Dad's a big fan of them. Only ever had one just stop working, and I think that was an '08 one running Vista or something. Although with the new ones, do a clean Windows install before setting it up all the way (just make sure and get your product key to be safe. you should be able to get it from CMD). The OEM windows install is really unstable and full of crap. I've had to do a clean install on a laptop for the fam, one for work, a desktop for work, another couple desktops for work... so a lot. HP's hardware is fine imo, but the OEM Windows complete crap.

this was back in like 2012 2013 when i had a spare laptop. it was hp and pooped itself

I installed a clean windows install about a week after i got the laptop there's no HP software on it at all

Hmmm. All the ones I've set up are running fine, except a couple I set up for my Nana, but she's like 70 and only knows how to use Word and a web browser.

okay so an update it seems to work fine until I launch minecraft but minecraft itself runs fine, so I'm guessing maybe a java issue
