Intel to ryzen hard drive help

Ok so I need some help. Im currently  planning on switching from my intel build to a ryzen. But i dont want to loose all my games outside of steam like overwatch. Im also planning on upgrading from a 2tb (only 800gb used)  hardrive only to an ssd combo. My question is how do I transfer my stuff to my new system with as little redownloading as possible. Also what size should I get. Would cloning to a 1tb ssd work? Or becuase in switching cpus manufactures should i just do a fresh windows install? I also lost my product key to overwatch and to diablo 3 and i dont want to rebuy them. I do both video editing and gaming. I have a $250 ssd budget and im not interested in m.2 for budget reasons. Thanks!

IF you just want your games copy your steam folder to a new hard drive

Attach the SSD only and install Windows. Make sure to have your OS key ready. 

Attach HDD and delete everything except the Steam folder and whatever you need. Leave the [USERNAME] folder for use as targets for your new SSD.

be sure to copy over your saves folder.

 

If you're using OEM keys (non-retail version), you will need a new key for the new motherboard.
