Gaming Laptop Suggestions.

Hi,

 

Does anyone have recommendations for good gaming laptops? Preferably under $2000 but could go up a bit. I'm really a console gamer but there are those games that I do like to play on PC like Rocket League, CS:GO, Paladins. So not really very spec hungry games but decent enough to run at least 60fps.

There's tons of laptops from Asus and MSI around this price (US $) that sport an i7, 16GB RAM, SSD+HDD, and a GTX 1060. The CPU and GPU will be mobile versions, but should run those games easily.

Looks good, but for a bit more I think you can get one with a 1060. (More power = longer before you have to upgrade)

What websites should I look on? I see from your bio you're in Australia, and Amazon is crap, and Best Buy doesn't exist. (From what I can see)

2000$ is really alot if your just going to run cs go and rocket league you can spend half that and still get 60 fps easily

Look at some Clevo/Sager laptops and pick the components that you want, they can be customized. However, for those games you don't need an insanely powerful laptop.

I have 2 gaming laptops. One for Desktop replacement when travelling, and another lower-end, budget one for University.
I regrettably got an Alienware 17 R3, when I should have gone with a Predator. However, my other one is a Dell Inspiron 15" 7559. I absolutely love it. It's such a low price because it doesn't have a glorious display, and doesn't worry about speaker audio; Dell Audio is surprisingly good for a stock audio manager. The keys on it are only a few mm thick. I was worried about that since I have a Black Widow that I use with my desktop. It turns out that despite the thickness, it doesn't change the amount of pressure needed for the keyboard. I've actually grown to like this keyboard more than the one on my Alienware.

The newer generation of the Inspiron 15 7000 gaming has a better graphics card, using the 1050 Ti instead of the 960m.
I checked the cost of it in AUD compared to CAD, and I realized how close our currency is in value.

So in Canadian, this laptop will cost 1350 CAD, which is 1350.34 AUD.

Another thing that you can opt for is a refurbished gaming laptop. I'm actually considering selling my Alienware 17 and going for a refurbished laptop instead.
