Seems like a good option, though you could also get a 7700 and B250 mobo and remove the CPU cooler and you could probably afford a 1070 with the money saved.

7700K seems to be overkill if paired with RX 480. As @DocSwag said above, i7 7700 and B250 mobo will be better. Or alternatively, get any i5 CPU.
You can save a lot so that you can get a better GPU, adding SSD etc.

That is true but i know AMD cards run hot and there is no much headroom to overclock. I owned a few AMD cards and i still do own one :D When it comes to VRAM I agree in 2017 you should buy a card with more VRAM because new cards are coming with standard 8 to 12 gb nowdays and probably it's for a reason. Between two cards it's a driver war i think :D
As @RadiatingLight mentioned above why not R5 1600x that will be about $220 or $250 i don't remember how much exactly.

And depending on the resolution you want to run at you might still get the RX480 and you will be saving some $$$

400 series isn't bad in terms of heat.

plus, both cards overclock decently well.

This isn't true for the RX 400 series :) They OC quite well and they're far from "hot and power hungry".

That on is the past tho, in this gen rx series cards aren't really that hot. Yes they consume more power than the 10 series cards but 480's TDP is only 25% more than the 1060 (yes, I know TDP isn't power consumption but they're pretty close).

True though, a 1600 or 1600x could be a good option. I think we should wait for benchmarks to say for certain but that's a good point, I completely forgot xD

That's good to know. I was looking for similar parts earlier 1600x with mobo + SSD + 2x8 Kingston memory and 1 rx480 8gb it's about $650 Which i don't know if it is a good price because i was searching local stores.

I think some channels on youtube have their samples alredy i watched a video where a guy was overclocking 4 R5's 2 were 1400 i forget what other 2 were 1500 or 1600 but they hit 4Ghz except one 1400 which was not much far behind at 3.9 :D

EDIT: Just checked there are a few benchmarks alredy on youtube.

It ends up being cheaper than your list, actually (since your's didn't include the price of the 480 in there.

Naturally, you should wait for reviews of the 1600 but it should be at least as good as an i5. I also went with a red and black theme because why not :P.

Note, if you'd rather have 1440p than 1080p you could get a 1440p 60hz IPS monitor for $70 more or so. It's up to you whether or not you'd like a higher resolution or higher refresh rate.

That looks about perfect. 1070 is pretty capable card so even if you upgrade your monitor to 1440p will drive it no problem. Good choice for PSU too.

But when it comes to the memory isn't 2x8 going to be single channel since this MB has 4 slots. Im still running 8GB for idk last 7-8 years probably :D And still no issues (Atleast for my needs) Maybe you would like to research how to slots work for this MB and probably go for 4x4 sticks. I'm no expert when it comes to memory just giving opinion.

That's not how it works :P you don't need to fill all the slots. Basically two of the slots are tied to one channel and the other two to the other. If you put one in each channel, like how the manual should tell you to, it will run in dual channel. Learn something new today! xD

EDIT:  prices

Only thing I might suggest is not to use that SSD, as it isn't very good. Maybe get a SanDisk Ultra II instead.

Also, make sure to get the AM4 brackets from cooler master so that you can use the cooler with Ryzen. I think you can get them for free. :)

I guarantee you it will be faster.
