you could get an 120 gb 850 evo m.2 drive for your OS, and then a 250gb ssd if you want to have fast storage for a few games

I know, honestly was too lazy to look up how many sata ports that mobo has, guess it has enough for just a regular 850 evo ssd.

I'm a bit tired right now but something in the back of my mind is telling me it's better to have just the OS and core programs on the main drive and other stuff like games on a separate one so that's why I'm not suggesting just a single bigger drive

A Intel Optane With a WD Black or Blue Should make a fast rig

since ur on a 7700k and a Z270 board,you should have a M.2 and a M.2 NVME Slot

get a ssd, dont use a cached hdd, tey preform badly
