EDIT: Also some time later down the line you should upgrade to 1080p, your current monitor will knee cap your new 480

Also is your EVGA 600w 80+ rated? Since EVGA does make crappy PSU's, if it's 80+ bronze, you will be fine. 80+ w/o bronze may get sketchy since it is a lower tier PSU, but will last until you have enough saved to upgrade the system again.

I just looked through your part list quickly, why not a K cpu with a cheap cooler like M9i or Gammaxx 400? Since he has a Z170

It is indeed rated 80+. Also are they really that bad? I've never had problems with my evga power supplies..

They can be, since the lower end aren't as well built as the higher tiers. but you will be fine, depending on how old it is (10 years or so, I'd consider an upgrade).

But since it's 80+ rated, it will run fine, but you may want to upgrade in the future, as the psu degrades due to age.

Ahh, might be worth it to get a fresh HDD, incase yours are starting to degrade due to constantly spinning.

What's the rating on your EVGA PSU? 80+, 80+ bronze, etc.

Well the hard drives I own aren't on 24/7, only a few times a week. Maybe even less than a workstation's uptime :P. Even if they were on more often, I only just bought them last month. I just store my backups on there. And some of the hard drives arent used yet lol. Also, the PSU is rated 80+. It's this one, but NOT refurbished. brand new in the box.

@deXxterlab97 will probably know more.

If it's brand new, I'd say give it a shot. It is a Tier 6, so I'd probably get around to upgrading it to a Tier 3 PSU, either a Seasonic S12ii/M12ii or Corsair CXM.

But Dex would know more about that.

Alternatively if you are worried, you can try and sell it and since you have HDD's already, potentially have budget space for  a Seasonic S12ii/M12ii or a Corsair CX450M.The aforementioned psu's are Tier 3 and considered by many as good all-around budget PSU's that won't break the bank.

Assuming that we went with my drives instead of buying a new 1tb drive, we would be down to 590.73. Also it might not be as powerful as that gpu, but I might instead go after a Geforce GTX 1050 Ti 4GB Windforce Graphic Card (only $150 because free shipping) Because I'm probably going to overclock it anyways.

I don't know older Gpu's as well as @deXxterlab97, he will probably know if that would be a good decision or 1 that would reduce performance.

Older? It came out in the 4th quarter of last year. Also I'm not saying it won't reduce performance, I'm just pointing out that I'm not 100% sure that I will be able to get 600 dollars for a new pc.

That's fair, and didn't realize the release date necessarily for the 1050ti, have only looked into my pc's parts more or less and haven't paid attention to pc stuff in the past few years.

Oh I'll definitely be able to gain money, as my neighbor often pays me $10 an hour to do moving work, mowing the lawn, etc. I just mean that I don't yet know if I can find someone to buy it for 600. If I do though, I might save up some extra to upgrade the parts a little :P

Yeah definitely, I see it as an investment to some degree,

I'm dropping cash on mine every so often, and have nearly finished buying all the parts in my signature.

If you can save some cash up, even if you don't get $600 from the pc sale, you should have enough to get something over the summer that is a good gaming pc.
