So I saw a video on youtube last month on "Do You Need an Expensive CPU for Gaming?"(not by Linus, sorry)In the video a AMD Athlon X4 750K and a Intel Core i5-4670K were used. Each cpu was then used to play games to get the fps.The gpu used were AMD 7770,HD 7870 and GTX 780.From low to high range. When the AMD cpu was used with the AMD gpu the fps were closed to the I5 cpu until the NVIDIA  gpu was used.Although my question is different from the topic of video but it seems like its true.

The Nvidea card is a lot faster than any of the other cards used in the test, and is fast enough to bottleneck the weaker AMD CPU. If a R9 290 or 290x was used you would see similar results.

You could've just linked duncan's (Austin's) video: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=qIT9uLDjZcg

The gpu doesn't care what brand the cpu is.

But if a weaker Intel cpu was used ?

But if a weaker Intel cpu was used ?

A weaker cpu would do worse.

No offense but duh..

You can apply the same logic in the reversed situation.

But if a weaker Intel cpu was used ?

similar results nothing different... bottlenecking occurs. These cards are designed to be mixed and matched differently and don't care what brand of cpu is used.

There is no performance gains between configurations that use AMD CPU with AMD GPU vs AMD CPU with Nvidea GPU vs Intel CPU with AMD GPU vs Intel with Nvidea GPU, if the CPUs and the GPUs are equally powered.

to AMD cards, they "really" don't care what brand of cpu you have (feel 100% free to use a intel cpu friend  ^_^)

still, the real problem come when...

the intel blind boys, put a "weak" intel "no gamer" cpu (because is intel you know )

with a strong awesome gpu of any brand (AMD/nvidia)

so, the real question is... with CPUs... really are... true Gaming CPUs ?

for me... all dual core CPUs... "are not"

so... "the hell" with all Core i3 and Dual Cores CPUs (sorry  ;))

buy a Core i5  B)

or jump to the AMD world

(and yes, those "Athlon x4 750k" and "Core i5 4670k" are great choices, true Gaming CPUs)

APU = A10
