Depends if the AIB's are coming out at release or if it's like the 480 and it takes 4-6 weeks for the AIB's to come out. I have a reference 480 and while it does well I know I'm losing performance over the AIB cards.

i will probably get the rx580 instead since of what the randomness just told me though thanks for your help

Just to back this up, a manually overclocked card apparently reached 1500MHz and was performing like an R9 Fury.

Like the companies that develop different pcb's and coolers. Like MSI,evga,XFX, zotac, etc. He means that it's up to you because those could take more than a month to come out and they are all around better than the reference (completely made by amd) cards.

the 580 is basically a 480+

if the quality of the AIB you get is the same, I'd wait for the 500 series.

think about it kinda like Kabylake VS Skylake.

Basically, the same thing except for Kabylake has higher clocks. but the real selling point of it is it's abilitiy to overclock much further than skylake, up to 5Ghz.

so I'd expect the 580 to be only slightly better than the 480 out of the box, but overclock much higher.

but this is all speculation.

it will be my first time overclocking both my cpu and my Gpu but i will take it slow at first. i am using a ryzen 7 1700 with stock cooler overclocking.

Are you implying that rather than releasing a 480X they are simply rebranding as a 580 !!! (*gasp*)

Who would do such a thing?

Well...I mean it is created with GloFlo's "refined" 14nm process so...kinda expecting for the chips to be clocking higher? (and cooler and less hungry) :P

Looking at my signature are we now? Well too bad there's nothing here...

The 580 got a score of 6880 in Firestrike Extreme (will post proof when I find it) which is basically a Fury.

I am going to be building a pc this month should i get the rx580 once it come out or get the rx480 for a cheaper price after the rx580 comes out? Since my pc will be finished at the end of the month after the supposable rx500 series release.

If these pictures are to be trusted from the new leak. Scored based on FireStrike Extreme.

The RX 480 scores 5316
