Why is my stream lagging?

I have my bitrate set to 1000, my resolution downscaled a ton, and my stream still lags when I play Mario kart... Why??? It only lags when I am actually playing the game, not when I am sitting in a menu or something. here is it right now for people that will see this topic right away. I am going to take that link down once it is fixed I just rlly want this to be fixed thanks./

I see you have a core i5, which isn't really great for streaming.

Check to see if a core is being maxed out.

The 4960k should be good enough for Mario Kart and streaming.Could be the way OP is streaming the game. Unless its Dolphin with settings turned all the way up. The way the game is capture also can cause problem. Window vs game capture

So, either overclock the CPU until there is no bottleneck, which will be hard to do, or use GPU encoding for the stream, which may very slightly lower quality, but there will be no lag, or use intel quicksync.

 

alternatively, you could also just change the program you use to stream to maybe be more multithreaded, and have less lag.

 

I'd recommend trying GPU encoding first, especially since Mario kart 8 probably doesn't push a GTX 1070 to it's max.

dude this wasnt even mario kart 8, it was double dash.. which was made for the gamecube lol
