I'm looking into getting a laptop for the fall semester being i am going to be a freshmen in college and am unsure as to what i am going to go for i know it is within the computer field being i am not sure what i am going to do I want something with a decent amount of power so i have allotted $1500 to spend on the laptop. I have been looking at the laptop linked for a long time I really like it and i am seriously considering it, I have read the reviews they said something about how the screen reflects light pretty badly but thats a quick fix right? But i wanted to know if any of you guys know a better option for the price.

I was looking at the 15" 360x spectre looks really nice and has good specs too.

I would recommend the 13" if it's for school, carrying a 15" can become a pain in the long run. I'm currently looking at the 13" Spectre with i7 7500U, 16GB ram, 512GB NVM, 1920x1080p and Pen support. 4k model sounds nice but losing 2h30mins-3h of battery life and an extra $250 doesn't seem worth it.

I've never had trouble carrying around a 17" laptop for school, honestly imho the 15" would be more worth it if he wanted more use than just light processing due to it having dedicated graphics.

Eh, I see the opinions on razer's lineup very justified due to the terrible build quality and quality control that the machine has been reported to have by most that own it.

XPS is definitely great though

If you're willing to sacrifice a little bit of potability then the GT62VR would be an awesome option for you. The older configuration that is on sale now on newegg for $1200 comes with

6700hq

gtx 1060

1tb hdd + 256gb ssd

15.6" g-sync screen

16gb ram

very good build quality and cooling, but it weighs nearly 6lbs

good battery life (this is made even better with a fresh install of windows and an undervolt on the cpu)
