Worth?

My friend is selling either his iTouch 2nd Gen or 4th Gen to me. He's selling the 2nd Gen for $40 and the 4th Gen for $120

Is it worth it? I don't have any smart devices and I'm not exactly supposed to have them...

I'd probably use which ever device for videos some games and socializing with friends (not though social networks, though a txting applications)

 

Which one should I get?

Honestly being a skillful Apple fan sheep myself. The 4th Gen is better but not very good. Only the latest gen has some sort of quality put into it...

You have your own smart phone. What would you use the iTouch for?

iOS is a different experience than android. It's also smaller and fits into more of my pockets. There's also some Apple exclusive apps. One of my favorites is Turf Wars that I play with my friends.

Really, bashing eachother over a trade like this... 

 

Everyone has got their reasons to why they wonna sell / buy and for what price, if the other part is not willing to bend their price.. Too bad, and good luck to you.

I do not really see a point in this thread anymore, if you want to bash eachother over something as silly as this, be it another place, thank you :)

He doesn't even realize how lucky he is. If he was in the same position as me he would gladly pay $100. I'm really tight on money right now because the holidays are coming up. I guess I'm missing the Steam Winter Sale!

You would know my situation by READING. Obviously he's "arrright" because he has smartphone + 2 iTouches and his own MC Server which earns hundreds of $ (which he uses for himself) I'm surprised he hasn't linked it in his sig or something.

Parents, I'm not even supposed to game. I don't have any consoles. They don't realize the power of PC.

 

You should tell your parents that keeping you away from stuff like this, will handicap you as you are not as familiar with new tech as your competition will be later in life. Which will be a huge part of job descriptions and so on.

Also by now not allowing your kids a smartphone [above a certain age that is] is rather socially isolating.

 

Unless it's your fault and this ban has occured due to inappropriate bevahiour on your side.

It's crazy he doesn't have this stuff, but he actually knows a ton. Probably 10x more than the people who have it. (Read with Indian accent and don't think I'm being racist) The lack of what he has only interests him more. It's only human nature my dear friend. We must all understand this.

I was pointing out how he doesn't know how it feels to be singled out and criticized for not owning a smart device. You said it yourself, I would be held back by not knowing this stuff. I am being handicapped socially and intellectually.

My PC is in the middle of the house. It's strategically placed so they can monitor me 90% of the time. The only time I have to game is in the mornings basically :(

Are your parents super strict or over cautious/protective?

You could also try to tell your parents you want to get interested in something like coding, which could also be a great skill later on in life.

Yeah that's gonna be hard for him , mine were more over cautious, especially my mom, my dad was fine with. But in deciding Mom>Dad but still she allowed me to build my rig. Also buying the iTouch might not be the greatest option because if his parents find out that could be really bad and he might have his computer taken away

Well nobody up until like 5 years ago had a smartphone or anything like that. I honestly don't think they are necessary. And especially in your position, I wouldn't get one of the iPods. There might be some sense to your parents saying "just because they have it, doesn't mean you need it". you have your PC, and you are only 15. I don't think you are missing out on anything
