I have this old gpu to use for a month for my pc build that a friend gave me it has DVI port I heard that I won't have sound if I get DVI to hdmi cable or adapter

I believe that DVI-D will pass audio, but don't quote me on that.

Actually to my surprise when I connected my GTX560ti to my Toshiba LCD TV it had sound just fine, I used a cable that had male DVI and male HDMI, connected DVI on the DVI-I port of the GPU and the HDMI on the TV and sound worked just fine, go figure.

I believe it does because I've seen monitors with DVI ports with speakers and headphone jacks.

I only have VGA, HDMI, and composite cables on my monitor

I believe depends on if monitor supports that, and I just quoted you
