My laptop is not booting up

Hi there,

I am fairly new to the LTT forums, if this post doesn't belong here, you know why.

So, my disassembled laptop won't boot up at all. Lights are shown but nothing happens on the laptop screen. Just black. What are possible causes and solutions? It used to work disassembled before.

Thanks guys.

Yes I did. Nothing shows up when I use a VGA cable to connect to a monitor.

Well plug it back in then.

I'm not sure if your laptop will start kicking video to an external monitor until it's fully booted up and signed in to an account. that's what my laptop does.
