You could buy the 1080Ti poseidon from ASUS. Add a bay res and a some rads. Then go mental xD

I absolutely looovve bay resses. But the dark base has some. I can make a PSU shroud if i want (Got some stainless steel lying around) so i dont really know. I think the be quiet case is more future proof, as i want to get a bay res if i go for WC

If that's your plan I'd go with the one that supports bay res for the future thats the one thing that put me off the evolv although I don't use bays for dvd drives anymore (Kind of want a bluray rewriter lol) They have other uses as well like fan controllers and bay res's

I kinda like the STRIX Z270E from ASUS

But i'm also liking the MAXIMUS IX HERO.

What to go for? Is there a difference in BIOS UEFI? or something?

I'm undecided I like having all the cores but if i'm not using them there's really no point in having them. By the time games start to use the cores properly we could be seeing mainstream cpu's with multiple cores at the prices of current quad cores which makes having this expensive 8 core pointless from the point of view that it wasn't really future proof because better performance can always be had later for cheaper. A bit like when I bought a GTX Titan X then the 1080 came out at 2/3rds the price and out performed it

Thats not so bad :D if I sell my 6900k for £750 and return my £550 board I'll have £1300 which I will only need a 7700k and z270 board which is about £550 :D so I'll have £750 in my pocket anyway. So if i'm not going to lose performance going from 6900k to 7700k in games then I might as well do it. I might even gain performance :D

Just get a 420 rad in your case w/ push pull. Do you have a CPU block too?

But the overclocked Ryzen CPU is a bit slower than a stock 5820K :P If you mostly game, you should keep your CPU and get a 1070, or spend a bit more for a 1080....

Thing is I don't have too much cash in hand and need to sell parts to get parts. And x99 is waaay more expensive than either chipset.

3600X @ stocke | 5600XT TUF OC @ 1850 | 2x16 + 2x8 RAM 3200 HD | 1tb Samsung 970 EVO Plus | Lian Li 205M | TT Toughpower Grand RGB 850 | throwaway b450 asus mobo | BQ cooler

And a RX480

And a h110 mobo

Thing is won't it cost you more to move over to Ryzen then it would to stick with the 5820k? Kind of defeats the point in switching if you wont gain anything out of it at all?
