Hello people of the LTT community, recently my gf has offered me a 960 Evo

And while having windows installed on my SSD for about a year now I decided to reinstall Windows 10. I mean , it's easy right ?

1- Download the media creation tool.

2- unplug SSD.

3- Install windows on M.2 drive.

Easy right ???? No. Fuck no.

The first time I installed Windows, PC had ton of display problems, (I'm using a 1440p display) things were way to small even for 125% dpi scaling(I had every driver installed) .So reinstall Windows again. This time the pc was taking 3 minutes to RESTART. Not boot. RESTART. Like wtf. It was quicker to press the power button and turn on the bloody thing. Atleast the display problems were gone, installed all the drivers again, installed the m.2 drive which requires me to restart my PC, *3 minutes later* yay it's booting fucking finally, log into windows, this time taking 2 minutes to log in. HOO OHH, do you hear that ?? Windows decided to give me the middle finger again. No wi fi, no audio.

Well fuck this ... Here we go again , installing Windows for the 3rd time.

This time, on ninite I decided that I want Malwarebytes I mean, that's program is amazing. Well, windows doesnt like it that much, since he prefers to use Windows defender, BSOD. ERROR BAD_HEDDER_SOMETHING (I forgot last part.) Well .. I'm off, you win Windows, tomorrow I'll deal with you.

Now can this be linked up to the M.2 drive ? This has never happened to me before , like wtf.

Also a guide on how to install Windows for dummies would be great.

(Sorry for my bad English and Bad language)

Have you tried remaking you install media? Could be a possibility of your media getting corrupted by something. Secondly I would go to the relevant website and get the drivers yourself. Dont count of MS drivers if you dont have to. There is a possibility that the drive is bad. Not sure how SSD fully work, but I would assume SMART exists on them. If you can use some type of tool to pull the smart Data you can check to see if the drive is failing for some reason.

Was this an upgrade to Windows 10 or a new build? If an upgrade, what version of Windows did you have before? Did your M.2 drive work with that previous version of Windows?

I just want to sit back and watch the world burn.

You should download all your driver from the manufacturer website instead of Windows update.

Ye .. now that I think about it, the pc would become instable after rebooting a couple of times , I will try and fix it once I'm home :P thanks, I will keep you guys updated.

Also I realized that I didn't use the option "new" when it prompt me to select a Drive for the installation ... Maybe that's the problem ?

The new option is to format and create a partition
