USB 2 to 3

so quick question, is it possible to make a usb 2.0 plug or usb 1.0 on the front panel a 3.0 by just changing motherboard abnd wires leading to plug ir does the interface need changed as well?

USB 3 physically has more pins, so you'd need to change the port as well.

You can't change it.

The connector is different on the inside.

 

You can still use USB 3 devices in a USB 2 port, but you get USB 2 performance.
